Battelle Emerging Entrepreneur Award
– OBW 2007 Winners –
Recognizing that innovation creates new products and technology that fosters the entrepreneurial spirit, Battelle established the Emerging Entrepreneur Award because of its commitment to preparing Ohio's next generation of entrepreneurs. Battelle hopes students will discover and develop key business skills that will prepare them for success.
Applications are provided before the commencement of each OBW session and are available in the CA room and from OBW staff. A panel chosen by OBW officials selects the winner. The selected student each week receives a $500 cash award to: 1) start a small business 2) grow an existing business.

National City Leadership Award
– OBW 2007 Winners –
National City recognizes that thoughtful leadership builds local communities, businesses and creates competitive opportunities within the American free enterprise system. National City established the National City Leadership Award to salute the Ohio Business Week participant who best demonstrates thoughtful leadership qualities during Ohio Business Week.
Company advisors may nominate one student from his/her company. The criteria are based upon observable behaviors demonstrated by the student this week in the following categories: (a) leadership; (b) teamwork; (c) commitment; and (d) integrity. Company advisors should prepare a written recommendation and submit the nomination to the Executive Director by noon Friday.

The Scotts Miracle-Gro Community Service Award
– OBW 2007 Winners –
Based upon a strong belief that volunteers make a difference in their local communities, ScottsMiracle-Gro established the Community Service Award to salute OBW participants who have best demonstrated a commitment to community service.
Applications are provided before the commencement of each OBW session and are available from all company advisors during the program. Students must submit a history of volunteer activities citing both the nature of their involvement and the hours (amount of time) actively spent in these activities. Leadership positions within volunteer organizations are also considered in the final evaluation. A panel chosen by OBW officials selects the winner. The selected student each week receives a $500 college scholarship to be used to defray expenses at an institution of higher learning.
